About the Eidolon Foundation
EIDÔLON is an ancient Greek word meaning "the image of an ideal". We have chosen this name because we at the Eidolon Foundation wish to create reality out of our dreams and ideals.

The Eidolon Foundation is not a church or other organized religious institution, and does not promote a specific religious doctrine. Instead, the Eidolon Foundation is a charitable non-profit organization dedicated to promoting greater awareness of alternative spiritual traditions and minority religions in Charlotte, NC and the surrounding region.

We are also working to provide a community center and library catering to alternative spiritual traditions, and are laying the ground work for a private or charter school that may one day be available to students of alternative religious backgrounds and alternative lifestyles.

Our Goals

At the Eidolon Foundation, we seek to support Charlotte's diverse community of minority religions and alternative spiritual traditions by

  • encouraging religious tolerance and understanding of alternative spiritual traditions and minority religions.

  • sponsoring events and activities open to the public, such as festivals and demonstrations of diverse religious practices.

  • publishing information and materials pertaining to alternative spiritual traditions.

  • developing a comprehensive Internet site providing online tools, forums, and local community information for the general public.

  • providing facilities for meetings, activities, and gatherings.

  • acquiring a permanent community center and library, to be accessible to all.

  • working to foster a private or charter school welcoming to diverse religious backgrounds and lifestyles.
