The Eidolon Foundation is a charitable non-profit organization (501[c][3]) located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Eidolon Foundation was created to help support minority religions and alternative spiritual traditions in Charlotte and the surrounding area.

02. Why is the Eidolon Foundation a corporation? |
|
As a legal entity, the Eidolon Foundation is classified as a corporation under state law. However, a corporation may either be a "for-profit" corporation or a "not-for-profit" corporation. The Eidolon Foundation is a "not-for-profit" (or non-profit) corporation. The Eidolon Foundation is also a Federal and State recognized 501(c)(3) public charity, which means all donations to the Foundation are tax-deductible.

03. What does 501(c)(3) status mean? |
|
IRS code 501(c)(3) classifies an organization as a non-profit public charity. The Eidolon Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity. This means that the majority of our support comes from public donations and/or activities directly related to our purpose. It also means that any donation to the Eidolon Foundation is tax-deductible.
Though the word "foundation" is in our name, we are not a Private Foundation. A Private Foundation receives the majority of its support from a small number of private sources. The Eidolon Foundation, as stated, receives its support from many different public sources. |

04. Are donations tax deductable? |
|
Yes! All donations to the Eidolon Foundation, whether monetary or in the form of books, or supplies, and so forth, is tax deductible. If you itemize your deductions (for example, you pay a mortgage and/or real estate taxes), then any donation made to the Eidolon Foundation, or to any other public charity, can be applied to your deduction. If you make a donation to us, we will provide a receipt for your tax records. If you make a PayPal donation over the web, please keep the PayPal confirmation as a receipt for your tax records.
The Eidolon Foundation has received an advanced ruling letter from the IRS on its 501(c)(3) status classification. If you would like to see proof of this letter, we can send you a copy upon request.

05. How is the Eidolon Foundation funded? |
|
The Eidolon Foundation receives the majority of its support from individual public donations. We also actively solicit funds from corporations and other organizations. In addition, the Eidolon Foundation raises its own funds through member dues, the sale of tickets to fundraising events, and various educational classes and workshops which support our primary purpose.
